It was a hot Saturday long Labor Day weekend at Raw Sugar Cafe on September 3, 2011.
It was a mix of loud rock and experimental music.
Playing at the show:
The show started off with Ottawa’s Roberta Bondar.
It was a loud rocking set they put on.
Only sang four songs but they did do one new song.
Seemed more people came to see them since it got really packed.
Next was Montreal’s Silver Dapple.
They were really good too.
They had that 1990s garage pop rock sound.
Didn’t know the drummer writes for Weird Canada.
If you don’t know what they sound like.
Listen to Slip Stitch.
Lastly Extra Happy Ghost!!! was up.
I haven’t seen them live in quite some time.
They were promoting the new album “Modern Horses” which Chad VanGaalen had a help in recording the album.
The live set was pretty experimental.
With alot of cerebral sounds and fuzzy guitar sounds.
It was a different sound than I was used to before.
But still a great set to see since they are getting some buzz from the new album.
Listen to So At One
