On the second day of FME (Festival de Musique Emergente).
Started off the day by attending the annual Bonsound Pool Party.
Performing by the pool was Les Louanges

Around 5pm I went over to Stage Evolu-son to see Lydia Képinski.
She started off singing, where no one knew where she until some people pointed out that she sang from upstairs and made her way downstairs to the main stage.
Performing materials from Premier Juin that is filled with cool indie pop music.

Starting off the night at Agora des Arts was no other than Basia Bulat.
Performing a wonderful intimate show with just her guitar and the Wurlitzer.
I hadn’t seen Basia perform solo in quite some time and it was just magical and emotional.
Started off with It Can’t Be You to Heart of My Heart and few others.
Since living in Montreal, her French has been improving very well and was confident speaking in front of the audience.
Loved hearing acoustic versions of Fool and Infamous.

After Basia’s set was Jesse Mac Cormack.

The big night was seeing Karkwatson!
Karkwatson bought together Patrick Watson’s four-piece band and all five members of Karkwa for a complex, flexible, expressive musical languages.
It was totally an unbelievable show.
So unbelievable that I was bought to tears.
Hearing both acts perform Beijing was literally an experience and actually knowing Karkwa’s Les Chemin De Verre.
Great to see both Polaris Music Prize winners on the stage together.
