Arboretum Music + Arts Festival is almost a week away (August 16 and 17) and couldn’t be any excited about it.
So I am trying to get a hold of the acts playing at this year’s festival and try to ask them a short Q&A.
Here is one with Johnny O of Ottawa’s post-punk, hard rockers Big Dick.
How excited are you to be playing at the second annual Arboretum Festival?
We have cancelled all international appearances slated for that weekend to play this festival contrary to the advisement given by our management team……that excited.
Are there any acts you are excited to see?
Flight Distance are great. New Swears may possibly get demolition of the old Arts Court started much earlier than proposed by the current construction schedule.
Never seen Holy Fuck but like their records and they definitely give us a run for our money in terms of most ridiculously ill thought out band names.
Besides the acts, any of the food vendors, arts & crafts stuff you like to check out or do?
We like food and crafts. All of it.
What can we expect from your live set?
Possibly a drummer pass out on stage from heat exhaustion.
Probably more than a few confused onlookers.
Maybe a JT/Janet Jackson-ish moment.
I think Boyhood stole our idea for some sort of integration of sparkles.
They are playing in Waller Park at 3:15pm on August 17th.
