Land of Talk @ Mavericks – March 5th [Photos]

It was a wonderful and packed night at Mavericks.
Land of Talk put on an amazing show in Ottawa.
It’s been awhile since Liz Powell played a Ottawa show in support of the album Cloak and Cipher (Ranked #7 in the Best of 2010 Canadian albums).

Very surprised that it was packed and sold out.
Alot of young and new people who just heard of Land Of Talk wanted a glance to see the live show.
Glad to hear some tracks from Cloak and Cipher like Quarry Hymns, Swift Coins, Cloak and Cipher, Goaltime Exposure and The Hate I Won’t Commit.
Due to the big repertoire from Some Are Lakes, Fun and Laughter and the current album.
Liz managed to play older tracks like Magnetic Hill and Summer Special.
The encore was Young Bridge (Still my favorite when she plays it live).

Surprised with the number of guitar change over she had.
Liz can play the guitar that well.
Surprised to see Mike Feuerstack of Snailhouse play in the band.

Overall it was an amazing show.
Nice to see Elizabeth Powell do really well with her music.
After the show, got to chat and get Cloak and Cipher signed and she is still nice.
I was right about the music video for Quarry Hymns was filmed at Ukrainian Federation in Montreal.
Afterwards heading out of the venue, it was snowing!
