Moon King – Secret Life [Review]

It’s interestingly and funny that Toronto’s Moon King‘s long awaited debut album comes out the week after Daniel’s brother Airick who goes by Doldrums’ album.
After releasing some EPs, the duo of Daniel Woodhead and Maddie Wilde finally release Secret Life out on April 14, 2015 via Last Gang Records.

If you are thinking this is going to sound like Doldrums, think again!
This is more of a straight up synth-pop rock album.
A mix of dream-synth rock to some 90s nostalgic rock sound.

Secret Life is very much a mature sounding record.
Lyrically it’s catchy but there is alot of meaning if you analyze or listening closely.
Part of me feels like I am listening to a new wave version of Broken Social Scene/Metric.
I really enjoy this album!

Best tracks

  • Secret Life
  • Impossible
