To end off my Wednesday night at NXNE 2012.
After having a spectacular night at the Drake Hotel.
I walked down to the Gladstone Hotel Ballroom.
It was the Green Couch Sessions & Ion Magazine Presents “Tracks On Tracks Showcase”. (Details on Tracks on Tracks is on the stie)
Sad I didn’t get to see The Belle Game and the “green couch” since I was told it was at the Union Station.
I got there and this musician named Sidney York was playing.
She was really great with her indie upbeat pop music.
Her and her bandmates played a nice set.
I didn’t know CBC Radio 3‘s Grant Lawrence was hosting this showcase.
He wasn’t wearing his typical sweater but he was dressed up as a “train engine driver”.
Before he introduced the next band, he was giving away R3 swag and one was the scarf (Which I wanted badly).
Then it was Top Less Gay Love Tekno Party.
As the band name suggest, it was one wild dance party!
A vibrant mix of indie pop and electronica dance music.
The audience was getting amped up.
It was all glitter, balloons and a inflatable penis everywhere.
I even got glitter on my arms, face and my clothes.
Glad I went in the back during the last two songs because one of the member dumped a whole load of glitter.
It was some showcase they put.
This ended my Wednesday and first night of NXNE.
