Click here for the official list plus my prediction on who should win.
But I would like to give my predictions on who I feel or might be on the shortlist for the Polaris Music Prize.
The shortlist will be announced on July 6, 2010.

Here are my 10 predicitons:
- The Besnard Lakes – The Besnard Lakes Are The Roaring Night

Another musician who has been nominated.
I have to say I really love her second album and her strongest album to date.
Listen to Gold Rush.

The winner in 2007.
Another fine record he has put out and its far different from Andorra.
Haven’t heard much of it.
But will there be another repeat with another profanity band winning this year’s Polaris??
Listen to Stilettos.

Haven’t heard much of this album but you know they might be the Malajube of this year’s Shortlist.
Listen to Les Chemins De Verre.

A step up from Challengers and more of that Twin Cinema sound.
A very fun record too.
Listen to Your Hands (Together)

Winner of the first Polaris Music Prize.
Why wouldn’t he be nominated again? (Patrick Watson did).
Heartland is more orchestral experimental sound than He Poos Clouds.
The short list needs a rapper/hip-hop artist on the list.
TSOL is another great fine record and a talented artist.
Could be K’Naan of this year’s Polaris Music Prize.
Listen to Yaa I Get It.

Would it be for sympathy factor with the loss of their drummer Devon Clifford?
Or they just put out a really great album on the theme of XXXX, I mean LOVE?
Its a change from their last two album but they are solidifying as a band not to reckon with.
Listen to There is XXXX (Within My Heart).
[audio:http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4791237/01%20There%20Is%20XXXX%20%28Within%20My%20Heart%29.mp3]
Honorable 5 (Picking five that weren’t on my prediction but there might be a chance they will be on the shortlist)
- Brasstronaut – Mt.Chimaera (Review of the album)
- Jason Collett – Rat A Tat Tat
- Hannah Georgas – This Is Good
- The Wooden Sky – If I Don’t Come Home You’ll Know I’m Gone
