Senior Citizen – What Was That [Streaming]

Today the electro-pop project of Fredericton-based producer/percussionist Bob Deveau and Tim Walker’s a href=”https://backwardmusic.bandcamp.com/album/what-was-that” rel=”noopener” target=”_blank”>Senior Citizen dropped their album called What Was via Backward Music, the sister label to Forward Music Group.
An upbeat electro-pop and feels of retro new wave sounding album.

About the album:
The full album as a full collection, it really highlights their delicious synergy, producing something that touches on off-kilter electronic music and indie rock.

Senior Citizen acts as Deveau’s alter-ego for his electronic music which he has been releasing for over a decade now.
The debut album from the Senior Citizen project, The Hawk (2016), was also a collaborative and distanced effort, with Deveau recording and programming drums from his childhood home in Port Hawkesbury, Cape Breton (hence, The Hawk) and sending song ideas to various friends/collaborators for further instrumentation and vocals.

Initially, Deveau dove into producing this record not thinking it would become the long-awaited second installment of his collaborative electronic music project, Senior Citizen.
However, global pandemics have a knack for steering even the best-laid plans off course. Deveau found himself in the midst of one of the most creative surges of his life just as the world was shutting down.
Luckily for him, Walker found himself in a similar position: a veteran composer yearning for a creative outlet.
With the stars aligned just so, the two entered into such a free-flowing and effortless collaboration that, when the dust settled, Deveau and Walker found themselves bemusedly wondering: “What was that?”
