Shapes and Sizes – Candle To The Your Eye (Review)

Montreal’s Shapes and Sizes is one of those band that definitely need some attention.
Not just because they are on Asthmatic Kitty Records (home to Sufjan Stevens label).
They are a really talented band, if you hadn’t noticed that Caila is also in Think About Life and sometimes Miracle Fortress (the follow-up to Five Roses will be out in 2011).
The band just released their third album called Candle To Your Eyes and doesn’t drop until August 3, 2010 (Same day as Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs).
Got a first listen to the album which they had on sale at the show I went on July 21, 2010.

Candle To Your Eyes is a change from their prevous effort Split Lips, Winning Hips, A Shiner.
Its very slow, experimental, somewhat dark and spacious.
Listening to Too Late For Dancing it has abit of the British influence guitar slow sound.
While The Hit Parade is a change when hearing the synths.

They are sounding very mature in the album.
Its a great album to listen to.
