Decided to hit up Babylon Nightclub on October 13th.
Playing at the show was:
Slim Twig
It was an early show but I really wanted to see U.S. Girls and Slim Twig played live.
Before the show, my contributor Emily and I got to interview Slim Twig and U.S. Girls
Have a listen to Slim Twig’s interview.

Have a listen to U.S. Girl’s intervew. My favorite was that her influence was Mary J. Blige (You go!) and we mentioned about misheard lyrics.

The show started off with Ottawa’s The Yips.
Someone dressed up as a ghost introduced the band.
They played a nice set of their indie rock and socalled “reverb seance”.
U.S. Girls was up.
Hadn’t seen her since Bluesfest.
It was a different set because she had a backing band.
The music has changed abit, gone are the solo stuff, creating the sound from tape machine and lo-fi distortion on the vocals
This time it is more on the clear vocals and production on the music.
She mostly previewed tracks from the upcoming album Gem.
Loved hearing Jack and sad she didn’t play “The Boy Is Mine”.
Really enjoyed it and you can tell she is evolving within her craft of music.
Last act to play was Slim Twig.
Having seen him play at Paper Bag Record’s 10th Anniversary.
Just had to see him again live.
He definitely rocked it out with his pop rock psychedelic music.
Mostly played tracks from Sof’ Sike.
