Winchester Warm – Sky One Room (Review)

I got a message from Jonathan Pearce of Poorfolk to download his other band called Winchester Warm.
They finally released their debut called “Sky One Room“.
The album won’t drop until sometime in May.
But they will have a CD Release show on May 28th at Club Saw.
The album is filled with great indie acoustic folk/rock music.
Far different with Poorfolk.
For those that don’t know Winchester Warm is mainly two members of Poorfolk who are:

  • Jonathan Pearce
  • Matthew Godin

Their music is very simple to listen.
Very revealing and intimate in tracks like Open The Windows, I Forget Nothing, The Wedding and Miss You For Dinner.
There is a sadness in the song Hardline Industry.
Its a different side for both Jon and Matt.
If you listen to their rocking side of Poorfolk and being “Stupid As A Tank”.
Winchester Warm is more of serious side to them.
If you like indie folk rock, then you should check them out and get the album.
Best tracks:

  • Cracks and Clues
  • Surf’s Up
  • Open The Window
  • Winchester Warm
  • Hardline Industry
  • I Forget Nothing
  • The Wedding
  • Miss You For Dinner
