Paper Bag Records is celebrating their 10th anniversary being into the Canadian Music scene. With that, they are celebrating it with three nights of shows at the Great Hall.
After seeing Young Galaxy’s set at Breakglass Studio during Pop Montreal. I had to bus down to Le Divan Orange. It was the Passovah showcase at Le Divan Orange.
I am jumping ahead and want to post about this free Pop Montreal show at Mission Santa Cruz. I will get to the acts I saw playing the Passovah showcase at Le Divan Orange. This free show was part of the Converse City Carnage. Headliner for that night was Hot Snakes. This is an act …
This was my first time being at Breakglass Studio. I hear they put on a great intimate shows there. The place is situated in Montreal’s Little Italy/Industrial area. Playing that night was Young Galaxy.
On Thursday during Pop Montreal. I started off my day at Parc de la Petite-Italie for this BBQ which was presented by Mailchimp and Pop Montreal. This showcase had a Hawaiian theme to this. I was definitely starving and got a hamburger with a pineapple in it.
Last stop of the night during Pop Montreal was at Église POP Little Burgundy. I was curious to check out Gang Gang Dance. It was the late night show happening at that place.
After seeing Stars and Diamond Rings set at La Tulipe during Pop Montreal. I was hoping to catch Wild Nothing at Il Motore but I was told that it was sold out and very hard to get in. With better judgement I decided to hit up Brasserie Beaubien for Fixture Record‘s showcase.
The first night of Pop Montreal. I caved in and decided to La Tulipe for the free show with Stars, Diamond Rings and Eight and a Half. I’ve seen these bands so many times. But I really wanted to check out La Tulipe which was finally my first time at that venue.
Here is a sneak peek of some of the photos I took at this year’s Pop Montreal‘s Pop vs Jocks. POP vs JOCK is a charity basketball game organized by Win Butler of Arcade Fire and Dexter John of DJ Sports Club.
