With various shows happening in Ottawa on October 14, 2011.
I opted to attend this show at Raw Sugar Cafe.
Playing at the show was:
Just love being at Raw Sugar Cafe for this kind of intimate setting show.
I find it cool to see acts from Dine Alone Records (Grey Kingdom and Marine Dreaming) and You’ve Changed Records (Baby Eagle) work well together.
The first set was Marine Dreams.
The band features Ian Kehoe of Attack In Black.
Had a indie alterna-pop rock set.
Very catch at times and like the tunes.
Next was Grey Kingdom which only featured Spencer Burton of Attack In Black.
It was just him and a guitar.
Jim Bryson you got some competition when it comes to telling good stage banter stories.
Told stories about an ex and having a tattoo of her name, motorbike trip to the east and Gillian Anderson of the X-Files.
This was the first time seeing this set and really liked it.
His music sort of reminds me of Daniel Romano mixed in with City and Colour.
A really nice intimate set which was so quiet that you can hear a pin drop.
Lastly it was Baby Eagle.
They totally rocked it up in their set.
Steve previewed some new songs for an upcoming album.
The last time I saw Baby Eagle was in April 13, 2010 when he opened up for Daniel, Fred and Julie and that was a show.
A fun rocking set.
Overall I had a great time for this show.
