On my second day at FME in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.
Started off the day at the annual Bonsound Pool Party with Laurence-Anne‘s set while dipping my feet in the pool.
Went to a surprise set by Élégie.
Great that Mint Records had their FME showcase which they had Heaven For Real who I haven’t seen in awhile and Nora Kelly Band.
Loved seeing Fraud Perry as always!
Went to another surprise set by Tukan which was near the train tracks/mining factory outside.
Great electro-dance music by the Brussels band.
Lucky enough to get into Le Paramount.
First act was Flavien Berger with some alternative and electro-dance French pop music.
I liked the music but not the singing.
Then caught like the first four songs by Elisapie.
This was the first time to try out the cover songs in Inuktitut.
So happy she started off with Blondie’s Heart of Glass and Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time.
Would have of enjoyed it more if it wasn’t too hot and crowded.
Caught parts of FouKi and it seems the audio got crunchy during the last few songs.
I really enjoyed Rip Pop Mutant which is one of the projects of We Are Wolve’s Alex Ortiz.
Retro electro-pop dance music and some crazy performance act.
Modlee loved her blend of R&B/Soul music with Erykah Badu vibe.
Ended the night at Diable Rond with Milk TV with their post-rock music.
Kind of reminded of Preoccupations or whatever post-rock jangle guitar band at the moment.
Finally caught La Sécurité, since there the band is getting alot of buzz because each members play in other bands or as a artist.
Currently the band is doing festival circuit and this being one of them.
Really enjoyed their art punk disco-like and new wave synth music.
