Greys – Repulsion [EP Review]

Greys-Repulsion
How fitting that their the cover is grey!

Toronto’s punk rockers Greys will drop their EP “Repulsion” (available to stream now) on October 30th to a limited 300 physical copies via Buzz Records and Carpark.

I’ve been playing the lead single I’d Hate To Be An Actor on my radio show.
They released their music video for The Voyeur.

Here is the info on Repulsion:
Repulsion sees Greys stretching their muscles, experimenting with dynamics and embracing melody while still retaining their knack for raucous squalls of guitar feedback. The change of scenery comes courtesy of esteemed Montreal recording studio Hotel2Tango where the band recorded with Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Godspeed You! Black Emperor) to create a more spacious, analog sound.

The standout track on the EP is definitely I’d Hate To Be An Actor.
It’s not your typical Greys track with its loud explosive punk rock sound.
That song has more of slow burning guitar distortion/riffing stoner rock like vibe!
While The Voyeur and Nothing Means Anything has that fast paced high energy punk rock vibe.

Repulsion tracks:

  • The Voyeur
  • I’d Hate To Be An Actor
  • Nothing Means Anything

I’d give the EP 9/10.
