This was the hottest show during Ontario Scene on Friday night.
At the NAC 4th Stage it was Jason Collett’s Basement Revue and it was the first time to be held outside of Toronto.
I was there for the first half of the show, after intermission I had to leave to another show that I didn’t want to miss.
In the beginning part of the show Jason Collett introduced himself and about the Basement Revue.
Performed three songs.
Afterwards was Andrew Cash who I didn’t know is a MP now
Then there was a poetry reading by Damian Rogers.
This one literally took me by surprise.
It was Kevin Drew and Andy Kim. Earlier this year they released an album together called It’s Decided.
Words can’t explain this set but it was just amazing!
Then it was Torquil Campbell of Stars.
His set was more of a performance piece, it was something I wanted to see Torquil do which was acting.
Unique, funny and probably the most you can get from this revue show.
Lastly it was Shad.
I was happy to see him perform in a smaller intimate setting.
Performed three songs and I was happy that he ended with Rose Garden.
If only I could have danced to it.
That was the best show I’ve been to so far at Ontario Scene.
That was the first part and sadly missed the second half after the intermission.
