Pop Montreal 2013: Fixture Records Showcase – Brave Radar, Homeshake & Mavo

Finally the last set of photos from Pop Montreal 2013.
I went down to Brassiere Beaubien (What a unique bar to say the least 😛 )
It was Fixture Records‘ Pop Montreal showcase.
There is something appealing about that label with it’s supportive fanbase and homegrown vibe (Arbutus included).
I had see the bands that was playing there.
I only caught three of the bands playing which were Brave RadarHomeshake and Mavo

Brave Radar @ Brasserie Beaubien
First time seeing Brave Radar.
Wasn’t aware that the band consisted of Tessa & Conor who run Fixture Records.
Their music had that mellow pop sound to it.
Homeshake @ Brasserie Beaubien
Next up was Homeshake.
I was very excited for this since the band has been gaining some buzz.
Not because of the singer plays in Mac DeMarco.
Their music is catchy to listen to.
The place was already packed for their set.
NO! Mac didn’t show up! 😛
Despite the waiting a long time setting up, it was really a great set!

Lastly I caught Mavo’s set which was my first time.
Ever since I’ve been to the festival, I seem to miss Mitz’s set.
But I got a chance and I really like his fuzz rock music!
It was a short set but amazing!

This ends my coverage to Pop Montreal 2013!
