Sheezer & Mnemonics @ Zaphod Beeblebrox [November 1, 2010]

The day after Halloween and Zaphods still had their Halloween decorations still up.
It was a fun and nostalgic show on November 1st.
Even for a Monday night show, people came out to check out the tribute band.
Playing at the show were:

There has been some buzz for Sheezer.
For those that don’t know, Sheezer is a all female tribute band that sings Weezer’s song (mostly from the Blue and Pinkerton album).
Here is my audio interview with Laura, Dana and Robin from Sheezer.
Very funny interview.

The show started off with Ottawa’s Mnemonics.
The band is a off shoot from other bands like The Allrights, Garaga and Centretown Cripplers.
Music was indie garage rock pop.

Still in the spirit of post-Halloween.
Sheezer came up on stage all dress up in the Anime show “Sailor Moon”.

  • Laura Barrett was Sailor Moon
  • Dana Snell was Sailor Mars
  • Alysha Haugen was Sailor Venus
  • Magali Meagher was Sailor Jupiter
  • Robin Hatch was Saikor Mercury

What a way to get people’s attention with their costumes.
They sang the “Blue” album someone in order.
They sang three songs off from Pinkerton.
The audience was singing every lyrics of each Weezer song.
Three people I knew got on stage for Undone (The Sweater Song) and did the talking part.

Overall I totally had a trip down memory lane.
Great vibe and no one was not disappointed.
Hope Sheezer comes back very soon!
