October 3rd was the return of Experimental Music Wednesday at Pressed.
Hosted by Adam Saikaley.
It it’s second season, the event will run from October 3rd to November 14th.
Playing on the opening night was:
• Alexis O’Hara

• Adam Saikaley

• DJ Matty McGovern

Matty McGovern was the resident DJ for the first night of the event.
Played a mix of ambient and experimental music before the show started.

Adam Saikaley the host of the event came up and did a little talk about it.
He did a performance of experimental music using portable fans, wires and a guitar.
It was very unique to see and hear.
Then he went up to this speaker box which made wobbly loud sounds.
Placed some cymbals and rocks in it.
It was pretty out there.

Lastly Alexis O’Hara was the final performer.
Checking my research I didn’t know she is the niece of actress/comedienne Catherine O’Hara and singer, composer and artist Mary Margaret O’Hara.
The set she performed was Seufzernstadt aka The City of Sighs.
It was very out there.
Mostly Alexis making weird vocals with electronics.
There was titles to each sighs.
My favorite ones were “Why I Oughta” and “Not This Again”.
One sigh which was called “The God Spot”.
Think of the famous scene from “When Harry Met Sally” but ten times that with the electronics.
I could help but giggled at it.
Would have been alot funnier if someone yelled out the famous line “I’ll Have What She’s Having”.

In “Not This Again” which was an angry performance.
Loved it when she tore up the poster.
She said that took her the longest to make it.
Most of the sighs were three minutes long.

Overall it was a good first night of season 2 of Experimental Music Wednesday.
Here are the rest of the photos.
